Use this setup flow to prepare the Ecovacs Deebot Ozmo 950, connect it to your home network, and create its first cleaning map.
1. Prepare the DEEBOT
[checklist] * Remove the packaging protectors * Attach the side brushes to the matching slots underneath the DEEBOT until they click into place * Place the charging station used by your setup in an open area * Plug the charging station into power [/checklist] [tip] If you plan to mop, place the charging station on a hard-floor area rather than carpet. [/tip]2. Charge Before Setup
Make sure the DEEBOT power switch is turned on, then place the robot on its charging station. Let it reach a full charge before the first mapping run so it has enough power to cover the floor without an avoidable interruption.
[note] The original setup guidance allows at least several hours for the initial charge. Use the robot's charging status to confirm when charging is complete. [/note]3. Prepare the Companion App
While the DEEBOT is charging, install the ECOVACS companion app used with the robot. Create an account or sign in, then add the DEEBOT when prompted.
4. Connect to Wi-Fi
[step] 1. Connect to the home's 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network for the initial DEEBOT connection 2. If the phone keeps switching to a separate 5 GHz network, temporarily disconnect from that network during setup 3. Keep the DEEBOT close to the router while establishing the connection 4. Return to the ECOVACS app and add the robot 5. After the connection is complete, return the DEEBOT to its charging station [/step] [tip] A shorter distance between the router and DEEBOT can help during the initial network connection. After the DEEBOT is connected, check its settings for firmware and automatic-update options. Enabling automatic updates can keep the robot's software current without requiring repeated manual checks.

Prepare the floor before starting the first mapping run. Open the doors to rooms and areas you want the DEEBOT to include in its regular cleaning map.
[step] 1. Start a cleaning or mapping run from the DEEBOT controls in the app 2. Let the robot travel through the intended rooms without picking it up or manually moving it 3. Allow the DEEBOT to complete the run and return to its charging station 4. Check the app after the run and save or confirm the completed map when the option is available [/step] [warning] Avoid carrying or repositioning the DEEBOT while it is creating its first map. Moving the robot during mapping can interfere with its position on the map. [/warning]Mapping Another Floor
The Ecovacs Deebot Ozmo 950 supports mapping for more than one floor. Save the first floor's map before starting another mapping session.
Move the robot to the additional floor and use the multi-floor or new-map flow available in your app. Depending on the app version and charging-station setup, the mapping flow may also require positioning the dock or station on that floor before the run begins.
